In Seeboden, Millstatt and Döbriach there are diving centres. Beginners can lern this water sport in one of the diving schools. Professional will like the lake as it is very deep and is supposed to be the lake with the most water in Carinthia. In Seeboden the lakeside is flat but at several other parts it plunges down. A special way of diving is freediving or apnoe diving, which is done without air tanks. There are international competitions and attempts to set world records.
